According to the legend, the painting is destined to reappear periodically, bringing death and destruction. The detectives investigate, increasingly desperate as bodies pile up and the criminal conspiracy behind the painting's theft mobilizes. With time running out before the painting again disappears into the night, the detectives plunge headlong into a bloody confrontation.
